Last night, I tuned into a space that was joined by @tomkysar from @gasdotzip, @futurenomics from @mach_exchange, @0xLamps from @StargateFinance, and @arjunnchand from Today, various models are often referred to as Bridges. From those using liquidity pools to intent-based models that leverage Solvers and even those leveraging MMs or CEXs, bridges have evolved tremendously since they were first introduced. To add some context, I do not work on bridge projects and am not overly technical. All the information below is based on my understanding of and thoughts on the direction of the bridging or interop space in the foreseeable future. What is bridging? Bridging was initially used to describe the movement of tokens from one chain to another. Over time, it expanded to include data transfers. The word bridge was used to make it easier for users to understand the concept, which was, in the beginning, often slow and cumbersome. What is bridging today? Today, various models are often referred to as Bridges. Since they were first introduced, bridges have evolved tremendously, from those using liquidity pools to intent-based models of today that leverage Solvers and even those leveraging MMs or CEXs. If you've been around and following bridges long enough, you'd probably remember the image above from 2021. Now, consider how you use Bridges today. It would be apparent how much the above has evolved in a few short years. The players listed in @DefiLlama are very different today than three short years ago. Some have shut down, while others have faded away. This brings me to what I think will happen to bridges and interop protocols over time. 1. Fees will trend to ZERO It's probably not what the protocols building in this segment want to hear. 😅 But in my opinion, bridge fees will go even lower over time, and those without sufficient volume will fade into irrelevance. Fee models would probably work in specific offerings and generate 80% of the protocol revenue compared to the more generalized service catered to a broader audience. 2. Bridge frontends will be made obsolete Today, most bridges or aggregators offer a dApp frontend for users to initiate a bridging or cross-chain swap transaction. This will disappear as interoperability and bridging functionalities become more natively integrated within dApps. Over time, it will become unnecessary for bridges, and interop protocols will no longer need to operate and maintain their own frontend as these functionalities move to the backend, which has now become an accepted and integral use between different chains. 3. Oracles and ZK I think oracles and ZK coprocessors might play a more significant role in interoperability. I have seen projects such as @union_build, @lagrangedev, @HerodotusDev, and @brevis_zk explore possible applications of zk Coprocessors for bridging; however, it is unclear at the moment what improvements this will bring to the overall bridging and interoperability space. There is still much to be done before we can eliminate the term bridging and refer to any transaction as a transfer or swap, regardless of whether they are on a single chain or multiple chains. Chain Abstraction protocols such as @SOCKETProtocol, @ParticleNtwrk, and @biconomy give us a glimpse into what the future holds and the improvements it brings to the user experience are promising. But are we close to achieving that yet? I don't think we are. Improvements have been made since 2021, but they are nowhere near what is needed for wider adoption. As I said in the beginning, this is how I view the bridging and interop space today. While I know many would probably disagree with my opinions or have a different point of view, please comment below. I'd love to hear from you.

Let’s be honest for a moment... I bought zero crypto in this recent dip.📉 Why? Because just like you, I have to manage my funds and risks carefully. I don’t buy every time the market dips—I buy when I see something that’s dead cheap or aligns with my plan. For example, let’s say there’s a coin priced at $1 that I’ve been tracking. If I believe its real value lies around $0.70 based on its fundamentals and chart analysis, I won’t jump in at $0.90 just because it dipped slightly. Instead, I’ll wait for it to hit my price target or show signs of a clear breakout above resistance levels. Here’s the thing: It’s easy to say, “I bought the dip.” But at the end of the day, what really matters is managing your money wisely. Buying every dip without a plan can leave you with little to no funds when the real opportunity comes along. I’m not just throwing money at the market for the sake of it. I’m sticking to my strategy, waiting for my ideal setup—whether that’s buying a massive discount or riding a confirmed breakout. It’s not about FOMO (Fear of Missing Out); it’s about being patient and making smart decisions. What’s your approach to managing your funds during volatile markets? Let’s discuss below. 👇
