One of the wallets associated with the pump and dump has transferred $4.5 million to a new address, with some funds allocated to the meme coin POPE. This could be an attempt at laundering the token. Authorities are investigating whether there are any legal frameworks in Argentina to prosecute insider trading. Alternatively, there could be a case that Milei was set up. It is not uncommon in politics for a hit job to occur so that Milei would face impeachment. What better way to set up the president than to take a photo with him and link him with a pump-and-dump scheme? Needless to say, the event has certainly embarrassed President Milei and instead of focusing on economic recovery, he is focusing on bad press.
