Blockchain games are facing a critical problem, namely a lack of funds, according to Theodore Agranat, head of the Web3 direction of the Gunzilla Games platform. He said that blockchain games are currently facing an acute shortage of capital, and the same funds are simply flowing from one gaming platform to another.
According to the top manager, such a situation creates an illusion of vigorous activity among game platform developers in the community. In reality, the industry has been lacking real growth for a long time.
To confirm his point of view, the expert cited data from the site DappRadar . According to them, in January, no more than $16 million was spent on financing blockchain games, which is almost 92% less than in the winter of 2024. Then this figure was almost $222 million.
In addition, the number of unique active wallets in blockchain games has decreased from 10 million to 7,5 million over the year.
Agranat also drew attention to another problem: game participants are showing less and less loyalty. According to him, they move from one project to another in search of profit, without trying to help the platforms develop.
To solve the problems, the blockchain gaming industry must prioritize the quality of the gaming experience over speculative money-making mechanisms.
