Musk warns: If outdated weapons programs are not immediately reformed, the United States will face the risk of major failure in future wars
According to a report from the Congressional Budget Office, on February 7th, well-known Silicon Valley venture capitalist and former Facebook executive Chamath Palihapitiya posted on the social media platform X, stating: "The Navy plans to spend $40 billion a year (a total of $1.2 trillion) to buy 364 ships over the next 30 years, with each ship costing about $3 billion. But if the Navy is willing, they can actually use a small portion of this money to buy over 10,000 armed drones, achieving global coverage." Musk then immediately retweeted the post, writing: "The US weapons program needs a complete overhaul. The current strategy is to produce a small number of weapons at a high cost to deal with yesterday's wars. Unless significant changes are made immediately, the US will suffer a devastating defeat in the next war."
