Pi Network implements updates to enhance KYC process
Pi Network (CRYPTO:PI) has announced significant updates aimed at improving its Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process, responding to ongoing user challenges.
The platform now allows users to appeal name mismatches and make minor corrections to phone numbers, facilitating smoother KYC verifications.
Despite facing delays and deadline extensions, Pi Network has achieved over 100 million downloads, with strong user bases emerging in countries like South Korea and India.
The project, which has been operational for nearly six years, is still awaiting the launch of its native token and open mainnet.
Previously, the team stated that reaching certain milestones would depend on 15 million users completing KYC verifications and migrating to the mainnet.
The KYC deadline, known as the Grace Period, was initially set for January 31 but has been extended to February 28.
This extension aims to help users who have encountered difficulties during the verification process.
In recent months, Pi Network provided guidance for users struggling with KYC procedures, including a dedicated Telegram chat for support.
The latest updates include a provision for users whose account names do not match their KYC names.
These users can appeal their application rejections and either correct their details or change their account name for a penalty involving part of their Mobile Balance.
“Eligible Pioneers include those whose KYC applications were rejected due to name mismatches,” the team explained.
Additionally, users can now edit up to two digits of their phone numbers to rectify minor errors.
At the time of reporting, the Pi Network (PI) price was $38.19.
