The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce comments on the US announcement to impose a 10% tariff on Chinese products exported to the US
On February 2nd, it was reported that at around 8 pm Eastern Time on February 1st, the White House in the United States issued a fact sheet announcing an additional 10% tariff on Chinese products imported into the US due to issues such as fentanyl. China strongly disapproves of this and firmly opposes it. The US's unilateral imposition of tariffs seriously violates World Trade Organization rules and not only fails to solve its own problems but also damages normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the US. In response to the erroneous actions of the US, China will file a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization and will take corresponding countermeasures to resolutely defend its own rights and interests.
