Ripple Secures Licenses in Texas and New York
Texas and New York are strategic hubs for the crypto industry.
Ripple Labs has made significant moves within the US financial space.
The payment company recently secured a money transmitter license in two powerhouse states in the US: Texas and New York.
Ripple Expands Its US Footprint with Key Licenses
Ripple Labs shared the news on January 27. Interestingly, the new license adds to its growing portfolio of over 50 licenses across various jurisdictions. Securing these licenses goes beyond ticking a box for Ripple. This means that the company can provide cross-border payment solutions in both states. Furthermore, this cements Ripple’s position as one of the top payment solutions providers in the US.
Texas and New York are strategic hubs for the crypto industry. Texas has a strong reputation for being a mining hub in the US, while New York is home to different digital asset companies.

Securing approval in these regions puts Ripple in a strong position, giving it a competitive edge and ensuring it aligns with local standards.
Ripple’s interest in New York has been in the works. The company’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, hinted at these moves last year when he announced that the firm’s RLUSD stablecoin had received approval from the New York Department of Financial Services.
2025 is here and the Trump bull market is real. For Ripple, this is even more personal after Gensler’s SEC effectively froze our business opportunities here at home for years. The optimism is obvious and very deserved.

Reacting to this expansion, Joanie Xie, Managing Director of North America at Ripple, said , “We’re continuing to see more interest from financial institutions in crypto businesses that want to unlock the benefits of crypto and blockchain for faster, cost-efficient, and 24/7 cross-border payments.
