Jupiter, a decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator on the Solana blockchain, has announced a new airdrop of 700 million JUP tokens, scheduled to take place in January 2025. The distribution will be divided into three main categories. The largest portion, 440 million tokens, will go to users who have interacted with the platform, mainly by performing crypto exchanges. Additionally, 60 million JUP will be allocated to those who participated in staking, while the remaining 200 million will be used for growth campaigns and incentives to expand the ecosystem.
To determine who will receive the tokens and in what quantity, Jupiter will analyze user activity on the protocol between November 2, 2023 and November 1, 2024. Criteria such as transaction volume, level of engagement and participation in new products will be taken into account when segmenting the benefits. The distribution structure will follow a tiered model, ensuring that users with different levels of participation receive proportional rewards.
Participants will be able to check their eligibility and the amount of tokens available for redemption through a tool called the “Jupuary Airdrop Checker,” which will be accessible on the Jupiter website. The project team warns that, despite the high interest, there is no need to rush to claim the tokens, as the redemption period will be up to three months. In addition, it reinforces the importance of avoiding congestion on the Solana network and the risk of high transaction fees in the first days of distribution.
This will be Jupiter’s second major airdrop. Earlier in 2024, the platform distributed nearly 1 billion JUP tokens to approximately 955 eligible wallets. The initiative is part of a larger plan to solidify Jupiter as one of Solana’s leading DeFi protocols, encouraging active community participation and attracting new users to the ecosystem.
