Illuvium collaborates with Virtuals to introduce autonomous AI NPCs into their game

Illuvium collaborates with Virtuals to introduce autonomous AI NPCs into their game

According to Cointelegraph, blockchain gaming brand Illuvium recently announced a collaboration with Virtuals Protocol to upgrade the non-player characters (NPCs) in its games. Virtuals is the technology protocol behind popular AI agents on platform X. This partnership will utilize Virtual's G.A.M.E AI model framework, enabling NPCs in three of Illuvium's test-phase games to dynamically adjust dialogues, tasks or challenges based on player behavior, enhancing interactivity and diversity of game experience. The Virtuals team gave an example that interactions between players and NPCs in the game will be more realistic. For instance, players can choose to provoke bartender NPCs into attacking or obtain customized rewards through friendly interaction. Such dynamic interaction will permeate every scene in the game, creating infinite story possibilities.

In an announcement, Illuvium stated that this technology would first be applied to "Overworld", a third-person exploration game set on an alien planet named Illuvium where players (known as rangers) can discover and collect creatures called Illuvials for use in another combat game "Illuvium: Arena". The technology will also be applied across all three of their games including "Illuvium Zero" - a base-building game where players generate resources and craft skins for use in "Overworld" and "Arena".
