Strive Asset Management, co-founded by businessman and Donald Trump political ally Vivek Ramaswamy, has filed a together The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed to launch an ETF (exchange-traded fund) focused on Bitcoin-related corporate bonds. The initiative seeks to connect traditional investors to the cryptocurrency market through regulated instruments.

The Strive Bitcoin Bond ETF will be an actively managed fund designed to invest in bonds issued by companies that use the proceeds to acquire Bitcoin. The initial focus will be on bonds issued by MicroStrategy, recognized as the world’s largest “Bitcoin treasury company.” Since 2022, MicroStrategy has invested billions of dollars in purchasing the digital asset as part of its treasury strategy.

According to the SEC filing, the ETF will seek to allocate 80% of its exposure to securities of companies such as MicroStrategy and will use derivative instruments such as swaps and options to diversify its strategy. This approach reflects the growing acceptance of Bitcoin as a store of value by large corporations.

In addition to MicroStrategy, the ETF’s portfolio will also include companies such as Metaplanet, Riot Platforms and Marathon Digital, all of which are involved in transactions that use securities to finance Bitcoin acquisitions. Metaplanet, for example, recently announced plans to raise about $32 million in securities, while Marathon Digital is looking to raise $700 million to expand its exposure to the asset.

Strive Asset Management said the launch of the ETF is a response to the growing demand for financial products that offer exposure to Bitcoin, aligning with its long-term vision of the digital asset as a hedge against inflation and economic instability. If approved by the SEC, the ETF will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The involvement of Ramaswamy, a figure aligned with Donald Trump's policies, adds a political component to the initiative, considering his history of supporting economic agendas that promote financial independence and the growth of the capital market.
