Data: In 2024, the total amount of airdrops in encryption projects reached 14.91 billion US dollars, with Hyperliquid ranking first with 1.34 billion US dollars
On January 4, according to Bitcoin.com, on-chain analysis by Dropstab showed that the total amount of cryptocurrency project airdrops reached $149.1 billion in 2024.
Among them, Hyperliquid topped the list with a scale of $13.4 billion, covering over 90,000 users; Starknet airdropped 700 million tokens to 1.3 million addresses, valued at $13.3 billion; Pengu, Wormhole and Jupiter respectively airdropped $11.5 billion, $8.96 billion and $8.91 billion.
Looking at the types of projects involved, Layer 2 had the highest proportion reaching up to 28.3% ($42.2 billion), DeFi and Layer 1 accounted for respectively for 22.2% ($33.1billion) and17 .6%($26 .3billion), while games meme coins , liquidity staking and AI projects were worth respectively$22 .8billion ,$12 .7billion ,and$3 .73billion .
