Sonic to airdrop SONIC tokens to 2 million TikTok users
Sonic SVM, the team behind SonicX, is launching an airdrop for TikTok users ahead of its token launch.
The airdrop comes after SonicX surpassed 2 million TikTok users.
SonicX is a tap-to-earn game built natively inside TikTok, designed to bring users into the Solana-based Web3 ecosystem.
The SONIC token will be central to the platform, powering transactions, community-driven features, and future GameFi integrations.
Chris Zhu, CEO and Co-Founder of Sonic, emphasized that the SONIC token’s goal extends beyond speculation.
"SONIC will act as the main currency within the Sonic SVM ecosystem. We aim to onboard billions of TikTok users into the Solana ecosystem and Web3 through our TikTok Chain," Zhu stated.
The airdrop will distribute SONIC tokens to TikTok users, with rewards based on engagement levels within SonicX.
Factors like time spent in the app, participation in campaigns, and feature interaction will influence additional reward allocations.
Zhu noted, "The goal is to reward meaningful user activity while keeping the onboarding experience simple."
SonicX has already exceeded 1 million players in its first month.
The upcoming token generation event (TGE) will set the snapshot date for eligible participants. TikTok users can qualify by accessing SonicX via the official Sonic SVM account.
Sonic’s onboarding process simplifies Web3 access by automatically creating Web3 wallets and offering gasless transactions.
TikTok users can log in directly with Sonic accounts, eliminating traditional wallet setups.
Sonic is building a comprehensive TikTok Chain to integrate other projects into its ecosystem.
Sonic’s platform offers significant opportunities for developers, with a focus on TikTok's massive user base.
“We’re creating unprecedented opportunities for developers and users alike. SONIC is far more than a speculative token—it’s the foundation of our economy,” Zhu concluded.
With TikTok's large and growing user base, Sonic aims to lead the charge in Web3 gaming adoption.
