Shytoshi Kusama, the mastermind behind the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has hinted at the imminent launch of the TREAT token after a series of cryptic messages. In a post, Kusama proposed that the Shiba Inu ecosystem is aligned and ready to embark on a significant initiative he referred to as a “MEMLITARY OPERATION.”
Shiba Inu’s Shytoshi Kusama Stirs The Internet
The term, Memlitary Operation, seems to be a playful blend of “meme” and “military.” It implies a well-coordinated strategy with a touch of humor, typical of the meme-inspired project. However, the statement was of much more significance as South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol añnounced the implementation of martial law on December 3, Tuesday, per the CNF report .
This declaration led to panic selling in the crypto market, with Shiba Inu also suffering alongside other cryptocurrencies and meme coins. Thus, Kusama’s post potentially aimed to cool the atmosphere while indicating that the latest endeavor probably has to do with the TREAT token launch.
Kusama’s adding the TREAT hashtag in the post made it more believable that this strategic move is related to the token. He further interacted with the community, asking if they were ready for the updates that are to come. Netizens saw this as a sign that perhaps things are speeding up towards TREAT’s launch.
This generated huge excitement from the Shiba Inu community, as many began calling out Kusama for an official release date of TREAT. Nevertheless, being true to type, Kusama declined to state any timeline while simply reiterating that the release would be “soon.” This fired up discussions on how close the token might be to going live.
Adding to the buzz, a Shibarium Updates post echoed Kusama’s sentiments, urging the activation of what it called “TREAT-Troopers” to amplify the ecosystem’s readiness. The channel highlighted the community’s unity and focus. They described the united community as “aligned, fueled, and locked on target” for the TREAT launch.
Progress & Utility of TREAT Token
Though TREAT was first introduced in 2022, it is yet to appear in the public eye. However, the development team has been making consistent efforts toward its release. They also created an official account on X (formerly Twitter), which gained nearly 14,000 followers recently.
Moreover, the team successfully secured $12 million from the token sales to the venture capital firms. This funding is dedicated to the Layer-3 privacy-focused blockchain development process. TREAT is expected to represent several use cases within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
It will represent the blockchain’s gas token, but it is also a reward token. According to Kusama, TREAT would be a utility-driven asset that probably exceeds all other meme tokens in practicality.
Meanwhile, the community has been warned repeatedly about scams, as some individuals have attempted to release fake versions of TREAT. The investors were instructed to follow only the official accounts for updates and announcements on the launch of the token.
Along with other altcoins, Shiba Inu (SHIB) has participated with more than 21% weekly gains. At press time, the SHIB price is trading 2.8% up at $0.00002998 with a market cap of $17.1 billion. Also, the daily trading volume surged by 33%, shooting past $3.31 billion. On Sunday, more than 7,548 new wallets were created on Shiba Inu, marking a 214% surge compared to the usual daily growth of around 2,400 wallets, reported CNF.
