Lead Developer Shiba Inu , known by the nickname Shytoshi Kusama, said , that SHIB no longer needs to be thought of as a memecoin. It is now a full-fledged asset, aiming to become a competitor to such major altcoins as ADA and XRP .

The developer made this rather surprising statement after several community members suggested returning to the original marketing strategies.

They recalled a time when the project was mostly focused on humorous content to attract new users. However, Shytoshi Kusama countered them, saying that Shiba Inu began to apply a marketing strategy that depends on the users themselves.

Any important decisions, including the choice of marketing strategy, will henceforth be formed only on the basis of a consensus of opinions of community members, in particular, through the future decentralized autonomous organization ( DAO ).

According to the developer, it is necessary to maintain a balance between jokes and humor and a well-thought-out development strategy that will allow Shiba Inu move away from the usual status of a memecoin.

Shytoshi Kusama noted that SHIB no longer competes with other meme coins. Now the asset intends to strengthen its position in the same row with such large and well-known altcoins as XRP and ADA.

It should be noted that not long ago, Shytoshi Kusama suggested that US President-elect Donald Trump appoint a blockchain adviser to help create a special platform for verifying voters and counting votes.
