Pixelverse to refine Telegram mini-games with Azur Games partnership
The Web3 gaming ecosystem Pixelverse is partnering with mobile game studio Azur Games to enhance Telegram mini-games.
On Aug. 8, Pixelverse announced that it would launch a new mobile game with Azur Games. The game will feature characters from Pixelverse.
The partnership aims to develop mini-games with advanced gameplay and “bridge the gap” between Web3 and traditional mobile gaming.
From clicker games to new genres
Pixelverse co-founder Kori Leon told Cointelegraph that while clicker games are trending now, attention will “inevitably shift” to different genres. Leon believes that founders must constantly entertain their audience with fresh mechanics. Leon explained:
“While historical games might remain popular, new gameplay and token distribution mechanics, such as airdrops within the TON [The Open Networ and Telegram ecosystem, must emerge to maintain community interest.”
The executive added that creating interesting gameplay for clicker games is crucial for ensuring longevity and maintaining players’ engagement.
“While clicker games often start strong with their simple mechanics and immediate rewards, they can quickly become monotonous if they do not continuously evolve,” Leon added.
Leon also believes that success in Telegram would hinge on leveraging the platform’s social mechanics and not just purely on the game. The executive believes that airdrops could be given to those who post stories, capitalizing on the messaging platform’s social features.

According to Leon, the Pixelverse ecosystem will evolve with gameplay enhancements and deeper integrations with Web3 and The Open Network (TON). The executive said it will integrate blockchain elements that provide unique transactions and in-game assets.
Leon added that it would give players new ways to interact with each other and the game.
Gameplay is paramount in Telegram games
Lastly, Leon also shared a message to the “community of farmers.” According to Leon, gameplay is paramount when playing games on Telegram. He explained:
“There is a cognitive bias among users who play games to earn rewards, making it important to manage expectations and be mindful of your time while playing games pre-listing. In traditional investments, you invest money to make money.”
Leon added that in play-to-earn models like tap-to-earn, players invest time to make money. Because of this, Leon believes it’s important for gamers to ask themselves if they genuinely enjoy the game before investing their time.
“If you don’t like the game, you should limit your expectations and view it as an opportunity to learn about cryptocurrency,” he added.
