Star Citizen Co-founder Eric Peterson Joins Unioverse as Chief Creative Officer
Unioverse, a web3 game creation platform, has named Eric Peterson its Chief Creative Officer. The co-founder of Star Citizen will be crucial for Unioverse’s attempts to bring web3 gaming mainstream and onboard gamers.
Eric Peterson has joined Random Games, the developer of Unioverse platform, to take the helm of game development and oversee creative initiatives. Eric brings a lot of expertise and industry contacts to the table, having co-founded Digital Anvil after working on the Wing Commander franchise with Chris Roberts at Origin Systems.
Eric created and designed Conquest: Frontier Wars and StarLancer at Digital Anvil in addition to negotiating important financial deals. In addition, he founded Fever Pitch Studios, where he served as President of Production and Founder while collaborating with Chris Roberts on Star Citizen.
Eric Peterson said:
“I am very excited to be joining Random Games and Unioverse and to be devoting my creative energies to developing great games in the rich Unioverse environment. We’re focused on addressing gamer frustrations by supporting actions that other companies punish, such as trading high-level characters or weapons. This is solved with our marketplace of game items, allowing players to trade items freely and derive more value from the games they love.”
One of Eric’s initial responsibilities in his new position at Random Games is to find external collaborators for Unioverse’s Metaverse. Furthermore, he will be instrumental in guaranteeing that the games published under the Random Games label are of the greatest quality. By doing this, the Unioverse platform will become a significant center for web3 gaming and increase the motivation for web2 players to join.
To make sure Unioverse is on pace to achieve its lofty objectives, Eric Peterson will collaborate closely with CEO Tony Harman, Head of Brand Bryan Clark, and CTO Wyeth Ridgway. Video games are the target audience for Unioverse games, which don’t need any prior understanding of web3 or cryptocurrencies to play. Consequently, they provide a familiar gameplay experience to players who are interacting with Unioverse games for the first time.
