It was reported that the key figure involved in the KOK token fraud case, which involves billions of dollars, has been arrested in the United States and is currently undergoing trial in an immigration court. Korean authorities are working to extradite this person and the two countries have discussed the matter. The Korean Ministry of Justice has refused to comment, stating that the investigation is still ongoing, including information related to diplomatic relations. It is reported that the cryptocurrency KOK, launched in September 2019, was used to raise funds through a pyramid scheme, and industry experts estimate that Koreans alone lost 4 trillion won ($2.89 billion) in the scam.
