The U.S. Treasury Department once again proposes new cryptocurrency tax rules
The US Treasury Department has once again proposed a large number of tax rules related to digital assets, including banning wash trading and imposing consumption tax on miners' electricity costs. The Treasury Department released the 2025 revenue proposal, known as the "Green Book," on Monday, outlining tax proposals related to cryptocurrency that were largely a repeat of the requirements proposed by the US President in 2023, but the proposal did not ultimately become law.
