Lens community launches new proposal to uniformly share new user joining fees
On March 5th, Lens Protocol, a Web3 social protocol, initiated LIP-6. The proposal aims to standardize the process for new users to join and establish a standardized fee for all applications built on the Lens platform. The proposal states that in order to reduce the potential risk of robot spam within the platform, new users must make a one-time payment to create a personal profile, with a transaction fee of 8 MATIC or $10. However, various applications such as Hey and Tape charge different fees for their respective joining processes. The proposal suggests a 50/50 split of the fees, with 50% directly going to the Lens treasury to support the platform's broader sustainability, and the remaining 50% being allocated to the wallet designated by the corresponding application.
