ENS Labs Settles Legal Battle with Manifold Finance Over Eth.link Domain Name
ENS Labs, the team responsible for Ethereum Name Service, has settled with Manifold Finance regarding the eth.link domain name. The settlement will cost the ENS community $300,000 in addition to ENS Labs' $750,000 in legal fees. Despite partnering with GoDaddy, ENS is still technically fighting Manifold in court, and the settlement was put to a vote by the ENS community. The vote resulted in 88% of the voting power agreeing to the settlement and 84% approving the reimbursement of ENS Labs’ legal expenses, potentially weakening ENS's litigation strategy as only 11% of the DAO’s voting power wanted to continue litigation.
