Former Celsius CEO and SBF have the same defense attorney, and U.S. prosecutors request a hearing on "potential conflict of interest"
US prosecutors have requested a hearing on "potential conflicts of interest" with Judge Lewis Kaplan, as two lawyers in the SBF case are also defending former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky. The prosecutor also submitted a letter to the judge overseeing the Mashinsky case, stating: "As evidenced by the trial evidence in the US v. Bankman-Fried case, Celsius borrowed money from Alameda Research, and Alameda Research used client funds to repay some loans to Celeste. The relationship between Alameda and Celsius may create conflicts in multiple ways." The documents show that the lawyers agreed to hold the hearing.
