Cybersecurity Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security: Chongqing uncovered a case of illegal infringement of citizens' personal information by "Mao
Official WeChat account of the Network Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security reported that the Net Security Detachment of the Jiangbei District Public Security Bureau in Chongqing found that someone was illegally obtaining software APP verification codes through "Cat Pool" for account registration, suspected of infringing on citizens' personal information. The suspect settled transactions with buyers through virtual currency, with a total profit of about 150,000 yuan. The so-called "Cat Pool" is a network communication device that can convert traditional telephone signals into network signals. Currently, 4 suspects in the case have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the Jiangbei police for suspected illegal access to computer information system data, and the case is still under further investigation.
